The Colby fire department assisted in the burning of a barn on the Ted Pflanzer
farm, two miles east and one mile south of Colby on Wednesday evening, October
1, 1969.
Dampened by afternoon rain, the barn proved to be difficult to ignite, but
burned quickly when finally started.
Firemen stayed on hand to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent property.
The fire alarm sounded in Colby about 7 p.m.
