“I am here this evening to make you believers in the branch campus in Medford,”
declared Dean Russell Oliver Tuesday night in a talk before Medford Area Chamber
members and their wives.
Dr. Oliver came here recently to lay the groundwork for the opening of a
one-year campus in the fall of 1969, the branch to be an extension of Wisconsin
State University-Stevens Point.
A small but enthusiastic group gathered at the American Legion club house to
hear the dean outline the role of the community and county in creating interest
in the university here.
