Of the seven anti-nuclear activists arrested during protest at the Air Force’s
GWEN site two weeks ago, four are still in jail here and three have requested
jury trials.
The two ABC-TV network cameramen arrested have both been released after each
paid a $114 forfeiture for a county ordinance trespass violation.
The videotape they shot of the protest was confiscated when they were arrested
and remains in police custody although Sheriff Bill Breneman said a copy of the
tape has since been returned to ABC-TV.
The seven activists and two cameramen were arrested October 18 at the site of
the new GWEN tower five miles east of Medford. They were initially charged with
criminal trespass.
