Joretta G. Blum, age 87, of Withee, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018
at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center under the tender care of Hope
Hospice.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Family and friends are welcome from
11:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Joretta was born on August 31, 1931, the daughter of Alfred and Hazel (Smith)
Whitish in Fennimore. She was united in marriage to Glen Blum on October 22,
1949, in Platteville. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2008. Together they
farmed in Longwood.
Joretta enjoyed fishing, reading, crafts, sewing, crocheting, cake decorating,
gardening, bird watching and collecting teddy bears. She also could bake
anything from scratch. Most importantly, Joretta cherished her family.
Joretta is survived by her seven children: Dennis (Sherry) Blum of Ashville, AL,
Kathleen Blum-King of Lafayette, GA, Allan (Virginia) Blum of Hustler, Eugene
Blum of Neillsville, Richard (Gloria) Blum of Withee, Joretta Ann (Michael)
Wimmer of Sun Prairie and Steven (Carla) Blum of Abbotsford; 22 grandchildren;
55 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is further
survived by her brother, Howard Whitish of Utah; many nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen; her infant son,
David; her brothers, Alvin, Walter and Richard and her sister, Mary.
