Kroening, Ervin R. “Cookie” (20 OCT 1925 - 30 APR 2015)

Ervin R. “Cookie” Kroening, 89, of Ladysmith, died Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the Cornell Care Center.

Cookie was born Oct. 20, 1925 to Richard and Clara (Vollmer) Kroening in Ladysmith. He joined the US Army and was stationed in the Philippines and later honorably discharged. He was a hard worker at everything he did. He enjoyed ice fishing, hunting and play cribbage.

Cookie is survived by his wife Ione; his daughter Nancy (Larry) Jenness; his son David (Anita); his grandchildren; Gary, Richy and Randy Jenness, Angie Lammers, Jonathan and Ryan Kroening; eight great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; his brothers Richard (Iris) and Paul; and his sisters Erma Rosendich and Irene (Clarence) Stine.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Walter, Leonard and Ray.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services.

Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family with arrangements.
