Stencil, Duane R. (27 DEC 1956 - 31 OCT 2018)

Duane R. Stencil, 61, Wausau, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the U-W Hospital in Madison.

He was born December 27, 1956 in Wausau, son of the late David and Ruth (Janisch) Stencil. On August 20, 1991, he married Mary Detert in Las Vegas. She survives.

Duane was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was most recently employed with Merrill Steel in Wausau.

Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, getting together with his buddies, grilling out and drinking a good Korbel and Coke in a little glass with two small straws. His greatest enjoyment was riding around town on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Survivors include, the love of his life, Mary Stencil, Wausau; his daughter, Danielle Stencil (Eric Gesell), Wausau; his grandchildren, Jarek Czerwinski and Marley Smith, both of Wausau; one brother, Dennis (Jean) Stencil, Wausau; one sister, Shirley (James) Britten, Webster, MN; three sisters-in-law, Barb Perry (Lawrence Bech) Lublin, WI, Deb (Jim) Blair, Weston and Lori (Wade) Parnell, Waunakee; one brother-in-law, Barry Detert, Wausau; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be at Noon on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Deacon Peter Burek will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Dudley Post No. 10, Wausau. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and again on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
