Hollman, Sharon Elizabeth (11 OCT 1969)

The marriage of Sharon Elizabeth Hollman of Milwaukee and Thomas Michael Cole of Joliet, Illinois, took place Saturday, October 11, 1969 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby, with Father John Olson witnessing the exchange of vows.

The nuptial mass was read by Father John Barrett of Naperville, Illinois. The Brother of Pius X sang and played guitar music during the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hollman of route 2, Colby (Clark Co., Wis.). His parents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cole of West Des Moines, Iowa.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose an A-line gown of delustered taffeta appliqued with lace and sequins. It featured a Sabrina neckline, empire waist, and long bridal point sleeves. Her cathedral length mantilla was edged in lace, matching the gown, and was attached to a pleated tulle open top pill box.

She carried a cascade arrangement of butterfly orchids with Waburn Abbey roses entwined in ivy.

Miss Linda Shanahan of Milwaukee was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were her sister, Mrs. Don (Marlene) Schnelle, and a sister of the groom, Mrs. Edward (Margaret) Johnson. They wore full length gowns of olive green and Otteman. The mini-bodice was outlined in colorful braiding, as were the three-quarter length bishop sleeves. A high rolled collar ended in a deep V at the back, which was highlighted by a detachable train.

Their flowers were fireside baskets of orange and bronze pompons. They wore bronze pompons in their hair.

The best man was Joseph Cimfe of Berwyn, Illinois, and groomsmen were Edward Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa, and William O'Donnell of Joliet, Illinois. Ushers were Vernon Rankel of Colby and Robert Tweed of Elmhurst, Illinois.

Following the ceremony were a reception, dinner and dance at the Trianon Ballroom. Afternoon music was furnished by the Augustines, and evening musce by Roger Allen.

The bride is a 1963 graduate of Colby High School, and in 1966 graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing at Marshfield. She has been employed in the outpatient department at St. Mary's Hospital at Milwaukee. Mr. Cole graduated from Wentworth Military Academy at Lexington, Missouri in 1959. He is employed by Plainfield Poultry of Plainfield, Illinois.

They will be making their home at 1600 Willowbridge, Joliet, Illinois.
