Mr. and Mrs. George Calmes, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Vince Tauchen of
Dorchester, visited the Rev. Raymond B. Schulz at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau
Claire. Father Schulz, former pastor at St. Bernard's, is reported making a good
recovery from a fractured hip and other injuries sustained when a ladder slipped
as he was painting at his church at Lima.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bumann spent Saturday and Sunday at Ephraim parish home at
Durand. Enroute they visited Father Schulz at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire,
Miss Margaret Siegler at Lima, and Sister Virgene at Eau Claire.
Miss Nancy Holtz, who is a senior student at Wisconsin State University, Eau
Claire, and Miss Linda Holtz, who attends beauty school at Eau Claire, spent the
weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Holtz.
Mrs. Leona Ohlinger was the hostess at the meeting of the Abbotsford Woman's
Club Friday afternoon at the city hall. Winners of the pinochle prizes were Mrs.
Harry Emling, Mrs. Adeline Anderson and Mrs. Norma Johnson. The attendance prize
was won by Mrs. William Jakel. The next meeting will be November 14 with Mrs.
Fred Ridderbusch as the hostess.
