An open house on Sunday, November 2, 1969 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Brothers of St. Pius X will onor George Steinwand, who is celebrating his 88th birthday.

Mr. Steinwand is credited with bringing the Brothers of St. Pius X to this area. In 1960 he gave the religious order his 120 acre farm.

The Brothers invite the public to help them honor George Steinwand at the open house.

The Brothers at Colby are part of a larger community which has its headquarters in De Soto. They ar elocated in La Crosse, Minneapolis, and Thorp.

They are engaged in teaching, nursing, religious education, community services, printing, administration, and farming. Locally, they operated the dairy farm one mile south and one mile west of Colby.
