Junior Kiwanian McQuade Honored (October – 2018)
October Junior Kiwanian
Logan McQuade
The Neillsville Kiwanis Club has named Logan McQuade as its Junior Kiwanian for
October.
McQuade, the son of Julie and the late Tim McQuade, is a senior at Neillsville
High School.
“McQuade’s high school years are characterized by active involvement in clubs,
sports, volunteering and academic achievement,” Kiwanian Brett Shoup wrote in a
press release..
McQuade is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Student
Council, STEM Club, FFA and choir. He served as a class officer during all four
years of high school and has maintained an A average throughout his tenure at
the school. He is also a member of the varsity golf squad.
McQuade plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of
Minnesota-Twin Cities, Northwestern University or Stanford to pursue a major in
math or science.
Active in scouting since he was in first grade, McQuade has received numerous
awards, earned 31 merit badges and acquired leadership skills from attendance at
trainings. While in Boy Scouts, he held positions of assistant patrol leader,
assistant senior patrol leader, scribe and Order of the Arrow troop
representative. He completed his Eagle Project with the placement of signage in
the Listeman Arboretum and is in the final state of acquiring the Eagle Scout
honor.
“The club welcomes Logan McQuade as its Junior Kiwanian and wishes him success
in his future endeavors,” Shoup wrote.
In the community, McQuade serves aa a greeter at his church and volunteers his
time at the Soup or Socks Food Pantry and Clothes Closet in Marshfield.
