The Most Reverend Bishop, Frederick Freking, Bishop for the La Crosse Dioceses,
announced to the TRG Monday that Father Chester Osowski, associate pastor for
the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Eau Claire, has been named as
successor to Father Norbert King, whose retirement becomes official June 26,
1974. The announcement came from the bishop's residence in La Crosse.
Father King has served in the priesthood for 41 years and has been in the Loyal
(Clark Co., Wis.) for the past 24 years. He was ordained June 5, 1933, at St.
john's Abby Church in Collegeville, Minnesota. Father King has served on
numerous diocesan boards while serving Loyal and previous churches.
Father King stated to the TRG that his successor will take over his official
duties on June 26, and has been in the priesthood for the past 25 years. More
information will be available on Father Osowski at a later date.
