Two men were killed and a man and two women were badly injured, just south of
the city, Thursday afternoon, in one of the worst auto accidents that has ever
happened in this county.
About four o’clock, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hamm and son Albert, accompanied by Miss
May Skidmore and John Weinsinger, all of Holway, left the city for their home,
after transacting some business here regarding the matter of enlistment of the
son.
Albert was driving and just before they reached the George Hamm farm one half
mile south of the city, the Studebaker car turned two or three summer-saults and
landed in the ditch on the east side of the road.
