Delbert A. Denzine, age 102, of Milan, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at The Waterford in Colby.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan. Rev. Mark Schwalenberg will preside. Family and friends are welcome from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the arrangements.

Delbert was born on Oct. 17, 1916, the son of Leo and Minnie (Hoeft) Denzine in the Town of Frankfort. On June 6, 1942, Delbert was united in marriage to Alma Hoernke at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Town of Frankfort. They would celebrate almost 76 years of marriage. Together, they farmed in the Town of Johnson for 37 years, where they raised three children: Patricia, Lynette and Bradley. After farming they moved to Milan in 1981 and resided there until March of 2017.

Delbert enjoyed the outdoors, including trapping, hunting and fishing. He also played dartball. During the early years of retirement Alma and Delbert enjoyed traveling and gardening. Together they enjoyed playing cards with friends and spending time with very close friends, Arlette and Clarence Molthen. He also was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan.

Delbert is survived by his three children, Patricia (Karl) Fischer of Lake Havasu, Ariz., Lynette Calmes of Wisconsin Rapids and Bradley (Sandra) Denzine of Silver Lake; seven grandchildren, Donna Hendzel, Susan Fischer, Scott Fischer, Larry Calmes, Debra (Bruce) Hobart, Nicholas Denzine and Erik (Jessica) Denzine; and five great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother, Myron Denzine of Wausau; along with many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alma on March 8, 2018; a grandson, Jesse Denzine; and five brothers, Clarence in infancy, Lawrence, Leon, Galen and Donald.
