A picnic dinner was held at Wildwood Park on Sunday in honor of Dennis Thomas, who was confirmed earlier in the day at St. John's Lutheran Church. Those attending were Gwen Mellenthin, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Mellenthin, Randy, Janell, and Geana, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Luepke and Troy, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Thomas and Ricky and Sandy.

Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Mellenthin were Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Larson and Lori, and Linda of New York; Mrs. Adelia Mellenthin of Spencer, and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Dietsche and Tammi and Jodi, Spencer. In the evening they were all supper guests at the Ethan Zimmerman home in rural Unity. The Larson family returned to their home on Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Luepke spent Sunday at La Crosse. Enroute home they visited Fred Luepke at Neillsville on Sunday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronal Luepke and sons spent the weekend at the Luepke cottage on Pier Lake.

Mr. and Mrs. Merton Reckner and family returned home recently after spending two week vacationing in the west. They visited Salt Lake City, including the Mormon Tabernacle, Rocky Mountain National Park, Denver, and the Mint, the Air Force Academy, Pike's Peak, the Garden of the Gods, the Vail Colorado ski area, and various other points of interest.
