Rossow, Roy (24 JAN 1910 – 4 AUG 1974)
Mr. Roy Rossow, 64, R. 3, Neillsville, Town of York (Clark Co., Wis.), died
early Sunday morning, August 4, 1974, at home. He was found by a brother on
Sunday about 5 p.m.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, 1974, at the Rinka
Funeral Home, Loyal, with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. David Ault,
pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, North Spencer, officiated.
The Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Roy Rossow as born January 24, 1910 in the Town of Beaver, and received his
education in Lincoln School, and also Greenwood schools. He logged and farmed
until 1944, when he went into the Army. He started farming again in 1946 on the
family farm, where he resided until his death.
He was in the service from December 20, 1944 until November 19, 1946, and was a
veteran of the Asiatic Pacific War, and received a Meritorious Unit Award.
Mr. Rossow never married.
He is survived by four brothers, Glen, Loyal, Mervin, Junction City, Oregon,
Verland R. 1, Loyal, and Gilbert, Black Creek, Wisconsin; and three sisters,
Mrs. Lila Dankemyer, Nekoosa, Mrs. Gilbert (Beula) Bremmer, Pearson, Wisconsin,
and Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Schmidt, Pearson, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rossow, and one
brother.
