Paroubek, Pam (10 AUG 1974)

As Pam Paroubek and Jerry Fields approached the alter of Holmen Lutheran Church, Jon Morse, accompanying himself on the guitar, sang "Wedding Song" by Paul Stookey.

Pastor Heidman of the University of La Crosse Campus Ministry, officiated at the 11:00 a.m.. ceremony on August 10, 1974, which united the daughter of Myron and Lorraine Paroubek of Onalaska, with the son of George and Emily Fijalkiewicz of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.).

Fashions of an earlier era were the inspiration for the attire worn by the bride, groom, and their attendants. The bride chose a dress of white cotton eyelet, and a wreath of fresh flowers circled the back of her head. Her attendants wore gingham-checked gowns, trimmed in white eyelet ruffles. Their dresses were in pastel colors of yellow, blue, and green. They carried baskets of fresh flowers. The groom and his attendants wore white dimity shirts with puffed sleeves, and white trousers with suspenders. Their hatbands and sleeve bands matched those of the bridal attendants.

Jon Fijalkiewicz, best man, and Becky Paroubek, maid of honor, gave readings from 1 Corinthians 13. Other readings were from the Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. Other members of the wedding party were Karen McClelland, matron of honor, and Mary Randall, bridesmaid. Groomsmen were Dennis Grabow and Mark Anderson. Ushering duties were handled by Larry and Craig Paroubek.

Jon Morse on guitar and vocal, and Becky Paroubek, on flute, played "Colour My World." More music was heard after Jerry spoke his vows to Pam.

Accompanying to himself on guitar, the groom sang "For Baby" (For Bobbie) by John Denver, to his new bride. Following her vows to Jerry, Pam sang "Annie's Song" by John Denver, to her new husband. She was accompanied on guitar by Jon Morse. All the friends and relatives present joined the bridal party in singing" Kumbaya."
