Meyer, Shirley I. (25 MAY 1936 - 30 NOV 2018)
Shirley I. Meyer, 82, of Medford, passed away Saturday November 24, 2018 at
Dycora Transitional Health in Abbotsford, under the care of Hope Hospice and
Palliative Care.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday November 30, 2018 at Hemer
Funeral Home, Medford Chapel. Pastor David Clements will officiate. Burial will
follow in the Perkinstown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until
the time of service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Shirley was born May 25, 1936 in Perkinstown, WI to William and Ruby (Redwine)
Meyer. She is a 1954 graduate of Hannibal High School. She married Leslie
“Buddy” Duesing and later divorced, and then married Glenn Copeland and later
divorced.
She is survived by her children: Diana (Daren Horton) Anderson, David (Deb)
Duesing, Kathy (Dave) Kenyon all of Medford, Ken (Shelia) Duesing of Merrill;
Grandchildren: Eric and Cory Anderson, Rachel Nikkila, Dakota Kenyon, Kelly
Duesing, Kayla Sasse; 7 Great Grandchildren; Siblings: Irma Nosko of Owen, Don
(Lana) Meyer of Holcombe, Esther Clarkson of Minocqua, and Lester (Mary) Meyer
of Holcombe, and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley is preceded in death by her Parents; 3 Grandchildren: Misti and Heidi
Anderson, Jay Duesing; Siblings: Enola Westrich and Raymond Meyer.
Shirley worked as a waitress for over 14 years at the Black Bear in Medford, and
also owned and operated Shirley’s Restaurant. She enjoyed fishing, hunting,
crafting, knitting, crocheting, gardening and taking to trips to the casino. She
enjoyed watching gameshows especially The Price is Right and Jeopardy. She loved
spending time and having sleepovers with her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Shirley can be given to Hope
Hospice and Palliative Care.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with
arrangements.
