Clayton William Schultz Jr. was born on Dec. 25, 1936, in Belvidere, Ill., the
son of Clayton Sr. and Gladys M. (nee Stroud) Schultz. He was raised in Illinois
and Wisconsin, graduating in 1955 from Mauston High School in Mauston. After
high school, Clayton served in the Wisconsin National Guard and worked at a
foundry in Belvidere, Ill. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army. During a 1-week
furlough before reporting to duty, he was changing a flat tire on his car and

life. He had many interests, but especially loved listening to music, and
watching Judge Judy on TV.
Clayton is survived by five siblings: Lois Chilson of Marshfield, Wilma (Earl)
Tennant of Huntsville, Texas, Duane (Barbara) Schultz of Berlin, Sandi Coyle of
Wisconsin Rapids, and Diane (Duane) Schultze of Greenwood; one sister-in-law:
Doris Schultz of Waupaca; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Violet Sheneman; and two
brothers: Gordon and Larry Schultz.
