Brost, LeRoy A. (11 JAN 1933 - 25 NOV 2018)
LeRoy A. Brost, 85, of Medford, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018 at Our
House in Medford under the care of Hope Hospice.
A memorial service for Leroy will take place at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford
Chapel, on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. with Pastor David Clements officiating.
Visitation will take place at Hemer Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 from
4 p.m. until the time of the service.
Military Honor will be performed by the Medford VFW at 4 p.m. Burial will take
place at a later date at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
LeRoy was born on Jan.11, 1933 to Anton and Margaret (Enders) Brost in Medford.
He graduated from Medford High School in 1952. After graduating he drove truck
for Al Ruesch and Kleist trucking. He was drafted into the Army in 1953. He
completed his basic training at Camp Gordon in Savanah, Ga. He then went to Camp
Hanford in Seattle, Wash. to be a clerk typist. In 1954 he went to Tokyo, Japan
to Camp Drake and served as a clerk typist in the message center.
In 1955 he became a business partner with his brothers at Gelhaus and Brost
Chevrolet, where he was a mechanic for 38 years until his retirement in 1993. He
married Inez Budimlija on May 9, 1959, they were later divorced. LeRoy was a
member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Medford VFW.
In his spare time he enjoyed restoring vintage cars, attending car shows and
auto races.
Leroy is survived by his two sons, Jeff (Linda) Brost of Medford and Jack
(Michelle) Brost of Eleva; grandchildren, Josie Brost, Jordan Brost, Ryan
(Kelsey) Brost and Lea (Alex) Gowey; great-grandchildren, Paisley and Max Gowey
and Rhyatt Brost.
Leroy is further survived by his siblings, Vernon Brost, Allen Brost and Arlyle
Mayer; and many other family and friends.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Lambert “Red” Brost,
Tom Brost, Rita Werner, Peg Tuma and Marlene Dettmering.
Memorial donations in Leroy’s name may be given to Hope Hospice and Palliative
Care.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with
arrangements.
