Melquist, John Edward (26 MAR 1929 - 15 NOV 2018)
John Edward Melquist, 89, passed away unexpectedly in Dresden, Tenn. on Nov.15,
2018.
Interment will be in the Ogema Cemetery at a later date.
John was born on March 26, 1929 in Prentice, the son of Harold and Nannie
Melquist. He attended Pennington School prior to enlisting in the US Army. He
served in the Korean war from 1950-1953.
John worked his entire life as a heavy equipment operator. He was a resident of
Dresden, Tenn. for the past 35 years.
John is survived by his partner of 35 years, Mary Patterson of Dresden, Tenn.; a
sister, Mary Deml of Medford; and seven nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Harriet Rhody; and a
brother, Robert Melquist.
