Moucha, Arthur James (8 SEP 1937 - 16 DEC 2016)

Arthur James Moucha, 79, of Cadott went home to his Creator Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, after a 12 year battle with prostate cancer, at home on his beloved Pioneer Farm.

He was born Sept. 8, 1937, to Edward and Elizabeth (Seaman) Moucha on the home farm in Drywood, Wis. There is where Art learned the art of farming with his six siblings.

Arthur attended the Little Drywood one room schoolhouse through the 8th grade. He graduated from Cadott High in 1955. He joined the U.S. Army National Guard and was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington state when he was called up by President Kennedy for the Berlin Crisis in 1961. He returned home to buy his pride and joy “The Pioneer Farm” in 1963, visible from the corner of Highway 27 and Moucha Road, just north of Cadott. He operated a few hundred acres and two farms, milking often near 100 cows until he begrudgingly retired in 2010. He married the love of his life, Jane LaNou Feb. 2, 1974, at Jim Falls Methodist Church. To this union they raised five beautiful children, 19 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one more on the way.

Art was very proud of all of his kids and grandchildren. He loved his extended family too. He treated his many nieces and nephews like they were his own kids. He appreciated all the times any of them were there to help out with whatever needed to be done. He was always up for a good game of cards or an afternoon of four-wheeling with his dear friends. You were all so good to him and spending time with his buddies made him so happy, you could see the joy in his eyes when he would talk about an epic card game or one of the excursions. We were proud that he taught us all a lot about raising animals, milking cows, planting and harvesting crops, and gardening. Art was sure proud of that garden. Many hours of slave labor were put into it while he dictated from his four-wheeler and we just giggled at each other and worked till he said it would do. Anything for you Dad!

He is survived by his wife, Jane Moucha; son, Barry Moucha of Cadott; daughters, Dana (Herb) Carlson of Stanley, Dawn (Brent) Knutson of Eau Claire, Rhonda (Kevin) Krumenauer of Jim Falls, Darci (Chuck) Tiegs of Cadott; grandchildren, Kasey (Ozzy) Rodriguez, Yesca Moucha, Calissa Moucha, Micaela Moucha, Clayton Carlson, Jackson Carlson, Davin (Kristy) Knutson, Cole Knutson, Brandon Knutson, Danyelle Moucha, Morgan Moucha, Dacey Knutson, Natalie Knutson, Melanie Krumenauer, Brock Krumenauer, Tristan Tiegs, Josie Tiegs, April Tiegs and Noah Tiegs; great-grandchildren, Kaden Rodriguez, Eisley Rodriguez, baby girl Rodriguez on the way, and Walker Harris; sister, Helen Melville (Ed Bobb); brother, Robert (Sharon) Moucha; sisters-in-law, Marlene Moucha, Jean Moucha, and Judith LaNou; brothers-in-law, Joe (Jewell) LaNou, and James (Rita) LaNou.

Art was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Loretta; sister, Shirley (Sima) Moucha; brothers, Kenneth, Marvin, and Gene; sister-in-law, Lois Moucha; brothers-in-law, Earl Melville and Dave Moucha; and also his in-laws, Louis and Laverne LaNou.

We take great comfort in knowing that Art is in his heavenly home, now free of pain and all that ailed him. We had the great privilege of knowing he asked Christ to be his Savior. He was baptized in the Chippewa River by his nephew, Pastor Greg Sima from Northwoods Church, Cornell, at the ripe old age of almost 79! To God be the glory! What a blessing.

There will be a service at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Cadott Methodist Church, 257 N Maple Street, Cadott, with a visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The family requests your presence for lunch and a celebration of Art’s life following the service at The Half-Way Hall, 319 Main Street, Cadott. Per Art’s request, his cremains will be in Bohemian National Cemetery, Cadott.

Thank you to everyone that has helped out in any way, he appreciated everything, and so do we.
