Betty Ann Dudansky was born April 27, 1933, in Thorp, Wisconsin, the daughter of
William and Leora Dudansky. Growing up in Thorp, she attended and graduated from
high school there in 1951. On December 4, 1955, she married Gerald Calcote in
Los Angeles, CA. She and her family have resided in Iowa for many years, living
in Clinton where they owned and operated the Boot Wagon Shoe Store until their
divorce in 1974. She and the four children then moved to Iowa City where she
worked at the University of Iowa Hospital as a housekeeper in the Children's
Department until her retirement in July of k 1992. Betty loved intermixing with
the children and to this I day still received many Christmas Cards from families
that came to know and love her over the years.
Betty enjoyed life to its fullest, her family, friends including longtime
companion John Buckingham. She and John loved dancing and going to many places
in the area just to "check it out". Going to the casinos was also a great past
time.
Her family includes her children: Robin Gonzales & (Tony), Judy Terry (Dan
Hoover), Mark Calcote (Janice) and Scott Calcote (Cindy); grandchildren:
Kimberly Calcote, Jake Calcote, Marie Netser, Ashley Humplby,
Zachary Ellis, Scott Gaade (Theresa); Betty's siblings: Florence Wald, Leora
Graski, and Geraldine Dudansky.
