Ehlert, Mr./Mrs. Albert (Gold – 24 SEP 1974)
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ehlert celebrated their 50th Anniversary on September 24,
1974. Mrs. Ehlert is the former Bernice Thwing, daughter of Clara Scovel and
Willamette (??) Thwing. She was born in the Town of Beaver (Clark Co., Wis.) and
attended LaTart School. Mr. Ehlert was born near Loyal and attended school
there. They were married at Loyal and were attended by Sybil Wall and Otto
Ehlert. They farmed in both the Loyal and Greenwood area, and later near
Abbotsford. They moved to Owen upon retirement.
There are three children, Leland of Marshfield, Clyde of Milwaukee, and
Genevieve (Mrs. Fred Smith) of Owen, and nine grandchildren.
Mr. Ehlert enjoys woodworking and Mrs. Ehlert likes cooking and sewing. Both
like to travel, and have been in most of the Western and Southern states.

Ehlert, Mr./Mrs. Albert (24 SEP 1924)
In observance of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ehlert on
the 24th of September, 1974, the following relatives helped them celebrate the
day at their home:
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith, Owen; Leland Ehlert, Marshfield, Ralph Thuring,
Stanley; Ruth Stowe, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thuring of Clintonville;
Mrs. Elaine Crane of Chetek, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Krultz, Willard; a
sister-in-law, Mrs. Flossie Thuring, Greenwood.
The afternoon was spent viewing old picture of families. A supper was served by
nieces, with a wedding cake made by a niece, Arlene Krultz.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ehlert were married September 24, 1924 at the M.E. Church in
Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.). They farmed until their retirement, when they moved to
Owen.
The couple are the parents of three children, Clyde Ehlert of Milwaukee, who
could not attend on the celebration day, but came and spent the weekend with his
parents; Leland Ehlert of Marshfield, and Mrs. Fred (Genevieve) Smith of Owen.
They are the grandparents of nine grandchildren.
