Jeff Langfeldt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Langfeldt, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), took first place Sunday in a sate speaking contest for Eagle Scouts. The contest was held at Marquette University.

Jeff has now earned the right to speak in the national Regional Contest at Purdue University on November 9, 1974.

The contest is sponsored by Reader's Digest and offers trophies and scholarships as prizes. The general topic is "Preparedness for Life."

Second place in the contest went to James Paplham, Green Bay, and third to Jay Ralph, Wauwatosa. Richard Kievert, Wisconsin Rapids, and Richard Harter, Menomonee Falls, also participated.
