Kohnhorst, Mary E. (Pawlowski) (19 FEB 1950 - 4 DEC 2018)

Mary E. Kohnhorst, 68, Wausau, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

She was born February 19, 1950 in Athens, daughter of the late Edward and Eleanor (Literski) Pawlowski. On June 1, 1968, she married Donald Kohnhorst at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Athens. He survives.

Mary worked as a department manager at K-Mart in Wausau and retired after 23 years. For 50 years, she was an active member of St. Matthew Parish. Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed bowling, flower gardening and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include, her loving husband of 50 years, Donald; two children, Kenneth (Isabel) Kohnhorst, Gilbert, AZ and Christine (Ray) Jensen, Lynn Haven, FL; five grandchildren, Joshuah (Johely) Kohnhorst, Alyssa (R.J.) Eldredge, Nicholas Kohnhorst, Rebecca Jensen and Christopher Jensen; one great-granddaughter, Norah Kohnhorst; her Goddaughter, Casidy Literski; one brother, Robert (Fay) Pawlowski, Halder; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon on Friday, December 7, 2018 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Catholic Church.
