Schroeder, Beverly “Bev” A. (Lindahl) (17 NOV 1948 - 4 DEC 2018)

Beverly “Bev” A. Schroeder, 70, of Claret Court, Stevens Point, WI, a former Medford area resident, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at House of the Dove, hospice house, Marshfield where she had resided for the past 4 days.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 14 at Divine Word Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2501 Plover Springs Drive, Plover, WI 54467, with Pastor Scott Wolfram officiating

Visitation will be at Divine Word Ev. Lutheran Church, Plover from 4-7 PM on Thursday, December 13 and also from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Friday, December 14.

Urnbearers are Kate Metz and Kathy Hemer; honorary urnbearers are Gloria Lindahl, Patty Henning, Evett Hartvig, Lori Kawleski, Irene Glodowski, Patricia Jones.

Bev was born on November 17, 1948, at Medford, to Walter “Butch” L. and Shirley (Kleist) Lindahl of Medford.

She attended Stetsonville, WI area elementary schools, and was a 1966 graduate of Medford High School. On June 7, 1969, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford, Bev was married to Dale L. Schroeder, and he survives.

After her education, she worked at Farmers State Bank in Stetsonville. Then she was a bookkeeper for Co-op Transport in Stetsonville. Then she worked as director of membership services for the United States Curling Association office in Stevens Point until her retirement. They moved to Stevens Point in September of 2005. She was active with her husband in the WI Lions Foundation.

She served as Medford and Stevens Point boys and girls high school curling coach for a period of years, winning numerous state titles. Was active in State & National woman’s curling both as a participant and in governing. Was active in State & National Jr. Curling and was part of the US Jr. teams that participated in 13 World Jr. Championships as either a team leader or coach. In 1999, she received the National Coach of the Year award, selected by the National Woman’s Sports Foundation. She closed her coaching career as the head coach of the High Performance Jr. Woman’s team and led them to back-to-back National Championships. Her true passion was her affiliation with Jr. Curling & helping young curlers develop both as athletes and adults. As much as she accomplished in curling, her proudest legacy was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, art, music, all sporting events, golf, tennis and snowmobiling and most of all, being with her family.

Bev was a member of Divine Word Ev. Lutheran Church, Plover; Lifetime member of the Medford Curling Club; Past president of Medford Curling Club and its Ladies Lockets; Past member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford and its church choir.

She is survived by her husband Dale L. Schroeder of Stevens Point, WI; son Troy (Kiersten) Schroeder of Minneapolis, MN; granddaughters Sydney & Sophie Schroeder of Minneapolis; her mother Shirley (Kleist) Lindahl of Medford; and brother Steven (Gloria) Lindahl of Medford.

Bev is predeceased by her father Walter “Butch” L. Lindahl; daughter-in-law: Amy Schroeder;
brother, Lloyd Lindahl; and sister-in-law: Gail Lindahl.
