Swanson, Richard James “Stretch” Jr. (23 September 1964 – 6 December 2018)
Richard “Stretch” J. Swanson Jr., 54, of Humbird, passed away on Thursday,
December 6, 2018 at home after a long, courageous battle with Amyloidosis.
Stretch was born on September 23, 1964, son of Nancy (Hacker) and Richard J.
Swanson Sr. in Belvedere, IL.
Stretch attended Marengo-Union High School in Illinois in 1982. After high
school, he worked carpentry and went on to become a mason which he did until he
was physically unable to work anymore. Stretch loved the outdoors, fishing, and
hunting. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Stretch is survived by his children: Sarah (Thomas) Giese of Alma Center, Dan (Alesha)
Swanson of Manitowish Waters, Jacob Swanson of Humbird, WI; special friend,
Grant Giese of Alma Center; grandchildren: Kathryn, Brayden, Elizabeth, Hailey,
Drake, and Willow; sisters: Teresa (Patrick) Smith of Cape Coral, FL, Cyndi
(Jackie) Richter of Leaf River, IL; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many
close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nancy and Richard Swanson Sr.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2018 at Jensen-Modjeski
Funeral Home in Hixton, with Pastor Denise Anderson officiating. Burial will
follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Alma Center. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.
until time of services at the funeral home on Friday.
Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home of Hixton is assisting the family with
arrangements.
