Bauer, Karen Lynn (27 JAN 1973)

Given in marriage by her father, Miss Karen Lynn Bauer of route 1, Kendall, became the bride of James Floyd Gereau of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) on Saturday, January 27, 1973 at the Apostolic Church in Withee. The Rev. H.W. Gereau performed the ceremony.

Mrs. Bill Scheffler of Stanley sang and played "The Song from Ruth," and she also played the wedding march. The Rev. Lester Kringle of Owen Alliance Church sang "The Lord's Prayer," accompanied by Mrs. Kringle.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mathew J. Bauer of Kendall, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gereau of Withee.

The bride chose a white velvet bridal gown fashioned with long sleeves and raised collar. She wore a fingertip veil with white velvet headpiece. Her nosegay bouquet was of white carnations and red roses, with white streamers.

Attending the bride as bridesmaid was her sister, Miss Florence Bauer of Kendall. Her gown was a robin egg blue velvet with chiffon sleeves and a raised collar. She wore a veil of blue to match her dress, and a velvet headpiece, and carried a single long stem yellow rose.

Attending the groom as best man was the brother of the groom, Phillips Gereau of Withee.

Serving as ushers were Larry Custer of Stratford, and Dennis Erickson of Withee, both cousins , the former of the groom's, and the latter of the bride's.

The mother of the bride wore a floor length gown in orange trimmed with brown lace and a corsage of carnations.. The groom's mother wore a long aqua dress with silver trim and a carnation corsage.

A reception was held in the church basement for about a hundred guests.

The bride is a 1973 (?) graduate from the Hillsboro High School and the groom graduated in 1972 at the Owen-Withee High School. He is employed as a truck driver. The couple will reside in Kendall.
