Navy Petty Officer Third Class Thomas E. Purcell, husband of the former Nancy J.
Hinkelmann of Route 1, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), has returned to his home port in
Long Beach, California, after a seven-month deployment in the Wester Pacific
aboard the guieded missile frigate USS Truxtun.
During the deployment, the Truxton served as an air control ship for Navy and
Air Force Planes and coordinated search and rescue activities in Vietnam.
He visited Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines, and the Japanese ports of Sasebo
and Yokosuka.
