Tomczak, Adeline A. (Fortin) (14 NOV 1928 - 17 DEC 2018)

Adeline A. Tomczak, 90, of Eau Claire, formerly of Gilman, died on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018 at Mayo Health System Hospital-Eau Claire.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman with Father Madanu Lourdu officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadowbrook Catholic Cemetery. Starting with a rosary, visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.

Adeline was born on Nov. 14, 1928 in the town of Aurora, outside of Gilman, to the late Louis and Anna (Sigel) Fortin. She grew up in the area and on May 22, 1946 she married Joseph Tomczak, Sr. at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp.

Adeline was a homemaker, a waitress at the Owen Café and cleaned houses. She loved dancing and singing and especially spending all her time with her children. She always had a very big heart and wanted to give everyone things. Adeline also enjoyed canning, knitting, sewing, crafts, playing cards and gardening.

Adeline is survived by her eight children, Kathleen Geissler and Beverly Tomczak, both of Bloomer, Elaine (Harold) Knox of Holcombe, Joseph (Sharon) Tomczak, Jr. of Lublin, Josephine (Dale) Seng of Gilman, Donna (Dale) Butkus of Owen, Elizabeth Tomczak of Stanley and Thomas Tomczak of Hannibal; 28 grandchildren; and 60 great-grandchildren.

Adeline was preceded in death by her husband in1998; her parents; grandsons, Scott Geissler and Robert Tomczak; granddaughter, Tammy Geissler; great-grandson, Braxton Frahm; son-in-law, Tom Geissler; and her siblings, Leo, Joseph and Raymond Fortin and Katherine Hall.

Plombon Funeral Service-Gilman assisted the family.

Note: Husband Joseph Julian Tomczak Sr. is interred at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Lublin, Taylor County, Wisconsin according to public cemetery records.
