Lesneski, Joanne (5 APR 1912 – 22 MAY 1973)

A Requiem Mass will be read at 10 o'clock this morning, Thursday, May 24, 1973, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, for Mrs. John Lesneski, who died at her home Tuesday morning of a heart attack.

The Rev. George Becker, parish pastor, will be in charge of the final rites, and burial will be made at Riverside Cemetery.

Last night at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home the ladies of the Altar Society held a rosary service at 7:30 and a parish rosary was held at 8 p.m.

The former Joanne Zurawski, 61, was born April 5, 1912 in Lublin (Taylor Co., Wis.), and was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education.

She had taught in grades schools of Redville, the town of Greenwood, and the third and fourth grades of the Owen-Withee school system from 1946 to 1970. At present, she had been a librarian in the Owen-Withee school system.

Her marriage on May 26, 1934, at Abbotsford, was to John Lesneski, who survives her.

Other survivors include a son, Roger Lesneski, route 2, Withee; a daughter, Mrs. Arlyn (Mary Loria) Mills, Owen, and five grandchildren.

She was a member of the Redville Homemakers Club, the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its Ladies Altar Society, of which she had served as treasurer. She had also served as secretary of the Owen-Withee Parent-Teacher Association and the Educational Association.

Memorial in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
