Miss Margaret Sillampa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sillampa, route 1, Owen
(Clark Co., Wis.), received her diploma from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of
Nursing on Tuesday, May 22, 1973. The group of 41 graduates was the 56th class
to be graduated from the school. The class brings the total number of nurses
graduated from the school to 1334.
Commencement exercises were held in the Senior High School Auditorium at 8 p.m.
The nursing graduates, along with graduates of the schools of medical
technology, radiologic technology and histologic technique formed a procession
hich entered to the music of “Pomp and Circumstance.” Following the invocation
given by Father Agnew, David R. Jaye Jr., president of St. Joseph’s Hospital,
Inc., extended greetings to the graduates.
The commencement address was delivered by William J. Hanford, Ph. D, Dean of the
college of Fine Arts, University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point.
William Dovenbarger, M.D., Chief of the Medical Staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital,
introduced the speakers and acted as master of ceremonies for the conferring of
diplomas. The nurses were presented diplomas by Miss Helen Brunclick, R.N.,
Educational Administrator of the school. Dr. Cesar Reves presented diplomas to
the medical technology and histologic technique graduates. Graduates of the
School of radiologic technology received diplomas from Dr. Thomas G. Olsen.
