Five members of the Owen Chapter of the Eastern Star Lodge were honored with 50-year pins and special recognition at a chapter dinner meeting Saturday, June 9, 1973 at 6:30 p.m. at the Meadowview Country Club. Robert Fischer, Wisconsin Rapids, a past grand patron of the Easter Star of Wisconsin, presented the pins.

The five honored were Shurleigh Grimes, Clara Wilson, Minnie Weddig, Zella Hilts and Mrs. Nina Cattanach. Clara Wilson, now 97 years old, was honored in abstentia, as she resides in Texas and was unable to be present. Her pin and other recognition symbols were mailed to her. Lorraine and Mary Fritz, worth patron and worthy matron of Owen Eastern Star Lodge, presided at the special ceremonies. Members of the neighboring Clark County Eastern Star Chapters attended the proceedings.
