December Junior Kiwanian
Xander Jansen was named the Neillsville Junior Kiwanian for December.

Neillsville High School (NHS) senior Xander Jansen was named the Neillsville
Kiwanian of the month.
The announcement was made in a Dec. 18 press release by Neillsville Kiwanian
Brent Shoup.
“Club members were impressed with the numerous achievements and extra-curricular
activities he has compiled throughout his high school career,” Shoup wrote.
Jansen, the son of Kathy Jansen, is a member of the National Honor Society. He
has competed in four years at Solo and Ensemble and was selected two years for
All-Conference Honors Choir. He will attend the Dorian Music Festival at Luther
College in Decorah, IA, in January.
Jansen performs with the NHS Show Choir and has appeared in numerous plays and
musicals in school, the Neillsville Area Players and the Missoula Children’s
Theater.
Jansen has also competed in boys’ basketball. He is a member of the Spanish and
history clubs, an active FFA participant and has served as class president.
“Following graduation in the spring, this highly motivated student plans to
attend UW-Stevens Point to major in clinical laboratory science,” Shoup wrote.
Shoup added that the Neillsville Kiwanis Club welcomed Xander Jansen as the
Junior Kiwanian and looked forward to his participating in December meetings.
