After 23 years in the tavern business, Albe Hamm, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), has
sold her business to Leonard Schluter of the Marshfield area, and will take
possession on July 1st, 1973.
Albe Hamm and her husband, the late Leonard Hamm, purchased the business and
building in 1950 from the Golden Sturgeon estate.
Following the death of her husband in 1956 Albe operated the business and lived
in the living quarters above the tavern.
In talking to her about her future plans for retirement she says that she has
purchased the lot West of Dave’s Steak House on Third Street and is having a
mobile home delivered within the near future, and a garage will be attached. She
also plans to do some traveling.
The new owner has been farming in the Marshfield area, but has also operated a
tavern in Racine in past years.
A farewell party is being planned for Saturday night, June 20th.
