Airman Brent A. Cole, son of Mr. and Mrs. Terrence Cole of Route 2, Withee,
Wisconsin, has graduated at Sheppard AFB, Texas, rom the U.S. Air Force aircraft
mechanic course conducted by the Air Training Command.
The airman, who was trained to repair current Air Force jet aircraft, is being
assigned to Mountain Home AFB, Idaho for duty with a unit of the Tactical Air
Command.
Airman Cole is a 1975 graduate of Owen-Withee High School.

Gene Zoromski was recommended as Fire Chief of the Thorp Volunteer Fire
Department at the department’s meeting last Monday.
The department’s recommendation of Zoromski for the post now goes before the
mayor and council for their consideration.
Elected as president was Harold Homan. Gerald Rademaker was elected vice
president and Jack LaGasse was elected secretary-treasurer.

Frank Dus, 57, of Route 3, Thorp, died suddenly Sunday evening, December 28,
1975.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 31 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s
Polish National Catholic Church, Lublin. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Frank Dus, 57, died at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley of a heart attack on
Wednesday, December 28, 1975.
Mr. Dus was born February 1, 1918 at Lublin, Wisconsin. He was united in
marriage at Chicago, Illinois February 26, 1949 to Lottie Tomcik.
Surviving are his wife Lottie; two sons, Frank L. Dus, Lansing, Illinois,
Raymond L. Dus, Thorp; two daughters, (Arlene) Mrs. Ronald Moehring of Madison,
(Fran) Mrs. Dean Emry of Sheldon; two brothers, Steve Dus of Thorp and Leon Dus
of Evansville, Indiana, and one sister, Amerlia Lebiecki of Lublin.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church, Lublin
on Wednesday, December 31st, with Rev. Stephen Krawiec officiating at the 10:30
a.m. service. Burial was made in the parish cemetery. A military funeral was
also conducted with almost all the members of Lublin Post No. 547 participating.
Pallbearers were: Joseph Penk, Phillips Ustianowski,
Walter Hendzel, Irving Syryczuk Stanley Lis and Eugene Zakrzewicz.

Memorial Hospital Saturday morning of a lingering illness.
Funeral services were held at ten a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 1975 at St.
Stanislaus Church, Lublin, with burial being made in the parish cemetery.

Fred Driessen died Tuesday, December 16, 1975 at Victory Memorial Hospital,
Stanley, Wisconsin.
Mr. Driessen was born July 18, 1902 in the Town of Worden, Clark County, then
moved to the town of Thorp and farmed there until 1972.
Funeral services were held December 20, 1975 at St. Bernard’s Church.
Officiating were Father Francis Brockman and Father Bill Buchman.
Surviving are four brothers, Ben of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Sylvester of Stanley,
Philip of Mansfield, Washington, and Charles of Thorp; two sisters, Agnes of
Stanley and Delia of Dundas, Wisconsin.

the engagement of their daughter, Cynthia Mae to Duane Symbal, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ted Symbal of Stanley, Wisconsin.
Cynthia is presently employed at ITT Life Insurance and a Senior at Gilman High
School. Duane is presently employed at Foremost Blue Moon.

Obit: Fauser, Lana Kay (1944 – 2020)
VALPARAISO, IN - Lana Kay Fauser, 75, of Valparaiso passed away peacefully at
home Friday, May 8, 2020. She was born September 10, 1944 to Edwin and Anna
Belle (Kelsey) Patz and graduated from Crown Point High School in 1962. Lana
retired in December of 2019 from Philips Ace Hardware as their Office Manager
with over 35 years of service. In her leisure time you could find her watching
Law & Order on TV, cheering on her Green Bay Packers or playing card games with
the family.
On November 16, 1963 in Merrillville she married Jimmy Dale Fauser, Sr. who
preceded her in death in 2012. Survivors include their children, Michelle
(Michael) Richardson of Valparaiso, Jimmy (Dawn) Fauser of Boone Grove, Diana
(Daniel) Lawrence of Knox, grandchildren: Jessica, Michael, Sarah (Kyle),
Danielle (Austin) & Ashli, great-grandchildren: Jamey, Averie & Brecken, and
siblings, Edwin (Patty) Patz, Sharon Krieter, Lynne Fischer & Terry (Jill) Patz.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Chuck and Dennis Patz.
A visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 - 6/;00 p.m. at MOELLER FUNERAL HOME,
Valparaiso with memorial service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Memorial donations may
be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
