Jicinsky, Rita Mary (Hein) (29 DEC 1926 - 3 JAN 2019)

Rita Mary Jicinsky, 92, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at Atrium Post Acute Care, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford, where the visitation was from 9:30 a.m. on Monday until the service time. Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam presided. Burial took place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County, and Rita’s sons served as pallbearers. Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home assisted the family.

Rita was born on Dec. 29, 1926, in Colby, to Henry and Ruth (Butler) Hein and attended Colby High School. She was united in marriage to Ambrose G. Jicinsky on Feb. 21, 1944, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. He died on Dec. 6, 2012.

After their marriage, the Jicinsky’s farmed in Stratford and raised their family of 11 children. Rita was active in Homemakers Club, 4-H and St. Joseph’s Parish. She enjoyed square dancing, bowling league, gardening, reading, photography, sewing and arts and crafts.

She is survived by 11 children, Bette (Mark) Kramer of Stratford, Gene Jicinsky of Las Vegas, Gary (Judee) Jicinsky of Marshfield, Steve (Betty) Jicinsky of Baraboo, Rose Jicinsky of New Smyrna, Fla., Al Jicinsky of Stratford, Jeff (Sue) Jicinsky of Middleton, Phyllis Jicinsky of Idaho, Judy (Dave) Williams of Swisher, Iowa, Barbie (Rick) Mueller of Marshfield and Wayne (Mary) Jicinsky of Colby. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She is further survived by a sister, Rose Miles of Waco, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ambrose; a grandson, Aaron; a daughter-in-law, Paulette Jicinsky; three brothers and three sisters.

Memorials may be designated in Rita’s name to Marshfield Area Purple Angels (MAPA), a new non-profit organization raising awareness about Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia, or St. Joseph’s Parish, Stratford.
