Vait, Betty Jane M. (Kaeter) (13 DEC 1951 - 7 JAN 2019)
Betty Jane M. Vait, 67, of Stanley, died peacefully of cancer Monday, January 7,
2019, at her daughter’s home with her family by her side.
She was born December 13, 1951 in St. Cloud, MN to Donald and Veronica (Theis)
Kaeter. She graduated from Sauk Rapids High School in 1970. Betty married Howard
Vait on September 12,
1970 in Sauk Rapids at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Betty and Howard moved to Stanley where they farmed and raised a family. She
obtained her CNA and worked at Victory Memorial, and then Clark Co., for 28
years. Betty enjoyed gardening, along with feeding and watching the birds. She
loved to spend time with her grandchildren often attending sporting events and
dance recitals. Betty also liked playing bingo and cards, especially rummy. She
loved going to concerts with family and friends. She was an
avid fan of both the Packers and Brewers.
She is survived by her husband Howard of Stanley, her children Jami of Cadott,
Tammy Schneider of Chippewa Falls, Jeremy (Heather) of Stanley, Jodi (Matt)
Derks of Boyd, Jessi (Jim) Wellner of Cadott, Toni (Josh) Seidl of Stanley;
grandchildren Phoenix and Lincoln Schneider, Carter, Avery and Mason Vait,
Brendon, Monica, McKenzie, Tate and Jonathan Derks, Michael, Isaac and William
Wellner, Alexis Jane, Kylee and Abigail Seidl; her siblings
Janet (Tom) Prom of Monticello, MN, Sharon (Ray) Gohmann of St. Cloud, MN, her
twin sister Mary (Myron) Vait of Clearwater, MN, Margaret Buersken of Little
Falls, MN, Marvin of South Haven, MN, and Mike of Wahiawa, HI.
Betty is preceded in death by her sister Yvette and her parents.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the
Plombon Funeral Home-Stanley with Deacon Ned Willkom officiating. Burial will
follow in at Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 13, from 2 to 6 PM, with a Rosary at 5:30,
and one hour prior to services Monday at the Funeral Home. Plombon Funeral

The family would like to give a special thank you to St. Joseph’s Hospice of
Chippewa Falls, Especially Sarah, Wendy, Karen and Mark. They would also like to
thank Dr. Naqui, Nurse Nancy and Sarah of Marshfield Clinic- Chippewa Falls and
Betty’s friend Reenie Maguire for the visits and strawberry shakes.
