O’Connell, Tracey Margaret (17 September 1965 – 10 January 2019)
Tracey O’Connell, age 53, of Neillsville, died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the
Marshfield Medical Center in Neillsville.
Tracey O’Connell was born on September 17, 1965 in Marshfield, the daughter of
Frederick and Margaret “Peggy” (Schlinsog) Blaskowski. She graduated from
Granton High School in 1983 and then worked in the office at Figi’s in
Marshfield and later for the Ben Franklin store in Neillsville. For the past 28
years she has worked at Tricor Insurance, formerly known as Westland Insurance
in Neillsville
She was a member of the Pine Valley Zion Lutheran Church in Neillsville, and she
enjoyed joking with Pastor Anderson before services. Tracey enjoyed cooking,
being outdoors, animals of all kinds and hunting. This past hunting season she
“bagged” her first buck in 30 years of hunting. She was a kind-hearted person
who enjoyed having her son’s friends over to the house and treating them as if
they were her own children.
She is survived by her husband, Duane and a son, DeRick O’Connell of
Neillsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her grandparents, Emil and
Lorraine Schlinsog and John and Catherine Blaskowski.
Funeral Services for Tracey will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 15,
2019 at the Pine Valley – Zion Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Chad
Anderson will officiate. Music will be provided by Sharon Bjerke, organist.
Interment will be in the Zion American Lutheran Church Cemetery in Granton.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday at the Gesche Funeral Home in
Neillsville and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at the church.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Rikki Ratsch and Ryan Dunn.
Pallbearers are: Donald Elmhorst, Jeff Strangfeld, Dallas Thoma, Korry Durham,
Kent Durham and Rick Durham.
