Kokaly, Anton Frank “Tony” (19 May 1944 – 13 January 2019)
Anton Frank “Tony” Kokaly, age 74, passed away with his caretakers and family
members by his side on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at UW Hospital in Madison.
He was born on May 19, 1944, in Chicago to Anton and Hannah (Francel) Kokaly. At
a young age, Tony moved with his family to Willard, the farming community where
his parents raised their family and where he grew to adulthood. He enjoyed the
outdoors and gardening while he was physically able, maintaining a happy
demeanor despite many severe physical and developmental challenges. Later in
life, he moved to the Madison area where he enjoyed new interests and eventually
moved to a home where he received devoted care from the Praksti family.
Anton is survived by his siblings, Carol (Larry) Aschbrenner of Madison, William
Kokaly of Willard and Marie (Paul) Hoppa of Sussex; and nieces and nephews,
Jennifer Horne, Randall Aschbrenner, Adam (Chrissy) Hoppa and Melanie (Chris)
Millot.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and nephews, Steven Aschbrenner and
Steve Horne.
His family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mike, Nick and Karen
Praksti for many years of devoted and loving care.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, W8178 Main St.,
Willard at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019. Visitation will be held at the
church from noon until the time of the service on Friday. Burial will follow at
Holy Family Cemetery.
