Looker, Darlene M. (3 JAN 1926 – 29 DEC 2018)

Owen - Darlene Mae Looker, 92 (5 days short of her 93rd birthday) of Withee, WI, passed away Dec. 29, 2018, at Clark County Rehab and Living Center, Owen, WI.

Darlene will be cremated with a Celebration of Life planned for early summer.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.

Darlene was born Jan. 3, 1926 in Ida Grove, Iowa to Della & Anson Juelfs.

She graduated in 1943 from Cushing High School and graduated in 1944 from Business College in Sioux City, IA. She worked for Woodbury County Engineer office at the Courthouse in Sioux City. On Feb. 13, 1946 she married Emil Ray Looker and lived in Owen, WI where they raised 8 children. She worked with Emil at Looker Radio and TV Store, later working as a bookkeeper at Right Way Mfg. in Owen, Stewart Cheese Corp., Greenwood, & Time Federal Saving & Loan in Owen.

Darlene was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Owen and a member of American Legion Auxiliary since 1951. She was extremely involved in her children's education, holding office of president many years in Parent/Teacher Organization; Leader of each; the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and 4-H. She loved seeing all her friends and neighbors who came to buy Christmas trees from the family tree farm. Even with this busy schedule Darlene sewed clothes, quilted, knitted, crocheted, and belonged to a card club. She was a great cook and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. She traveled to Iowa to visit her family, often traveled to visit her children and treasured camping with them. She considered herself fortunate to have seen the west coast and Hawaii.

Darlene will be dearly missed by her daughters, Linda (Dale Panko) of Granville, OH; Diane (Paul Abley) of Douglasville, GA; Janet (Jeff Greschner) of Withee, WI; and sons: Dennis (Vickie) Looker of Withee, WI; Greg (Pam) Looker of Mascoutah, IL; Jim Looker of Rochester, MN; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by brother, Dick (Sherry) Juelfs of Holstein, IA; and sister, Dixie Anderson of Cowley, WY.

She was preceded in death by: husband Emil (1987), and sons: Gary (1968) and Larry (Apr. 2018), her brothers; Dale, Duane, Delbert & Don Juelfs.

Darlene will be cremated with a Celebration of Life planned for early summer.
