Junior Kiwanian Cappadora Named (January - 2019)

Samantha Cappadora

Continuing its long-standing tradition, the Neillsville Kiwanis Club has named local senior student Samantha Cappadora, daughter of Nick and Cindy Cappadora, as its January Junior Kiwanian.

“Cappadora is a fine example of a high-achieving scholar-athlete. She has been a three-sport participant in basketball, volleyball and softball throughout high school,” Kiwanian Brent Shoup wrote in a statement.

Cappadora’s academic achievements include being a part of the national Honor Society, being on the straight-A honor roll and participating on Neillsville High School Student Council all of her four years at the school. She has even served as class vice-president.

Her extracurricular activities include 4-H, FFA, Band, Spanish Club, History Club and Being a Leader and Standing Tall (BLAST). She ahs also worked and volunteered for the Neillsville Recreation Department throughout high school.

Following her graduation this spring, Cappadora will attend either UW-Stevens Point or Carthage College with a career goal of becoming an athletic trainer.

Cappadora has attended the Neillsville Kiwanis Club’s Monday meetings during the month.

“The Junior Kiwanian program gives recognition to outstanding students like Samantha Cappadora, who have demonstrated strong academic achievement, shown good leadership qualities and strive to make use of their talents,” Shoup wrote. “Through their participation in the Junior Kiwanian program, students are provided an introduction to the concept of a service organization such as Kiwanis, which encourages active participation in the community throughout the lifespan.

“The Neillsville club looks forward to her participation during the month and wishes her continuing success in her future endeavors.”
