County, city and town snow removal crews have worked relentlessly the past two
weeks as storm fronts moved across the area on each other’s heels dumping 21 ½
inches of snow during a 13-day period.
Added to the 16 inches measured within five days, starting December 18, were
four snowfalls. The December 26 cover measured eight-tenths of an inch, followed
by seven-tenth the following day. The followed the storms of December 28 and 30,
each leaving in their paths to inches of new snow for a total of 5.5 inches.
