Powell, Carolyn (4 APR 1884 - 24 AUG 1973)
Mrs. Carolyn Powell, 89, a former Owen (Clark Co., Wis..) resident, died at
12:25 a.m. Friday, August 24, 1973 at the Medford Memorial Hospital. For the
past five years Mrs. Powell had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs.
Edwin (Beatrice) Hoeper, at PSR, Medford.
Rites were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home in Owen.
The Rev. Kurt Sampson, pastor of the Owen First Congregational Church,
officiated, and burial was made in the Withee Riverside Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Paul Bladl, Wm. Hoeper, Fred Hoeper, Martin Paulson, Hans
Paulson and Axel Lindgren.
Mrs. Powell was born April 4, 1884, in Denmark, and was married to the Rev.
William Powell July 17, 1907, at Chicago. The Rev. Powell, who preceded her in
death in Mary of 1949, was a former pastor of the Owen Congregational Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Beatrice) Hoeper, PSR. Medford; a
son, Aubrey Powell, Land O' Lakes; and two grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and a
brother.
