Steinke, William C. (17 JUN 1898 – 20 SEP 1973)
William C. Steinke, 75, and formerly of rural Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), died
Thursday, September 20, 1973 at his home in Abbotsford.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 22 from the Norwegian
Lutheran Church at Curtiss, with Rev. Roger Tellock officiating. Burial was made
in the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Harold Stange, Robert Mattson, Howard Hoeft, Vic
Borgeman, Dale Steinke and Earl Schiszik..
The deceased was born June 17, 1898 in Dorchester. After his schooling he
pursued the vocation of farming in the town of Hoard (Clark Co.) until 1960,
when he retired and moved to Dorchester.
On the 13th of June 1921 he and the former Laura Borgeman were united in
marriage in a ceremony performed at Curtiss. She preceded him in death, having
passed away February 27, 1969.
He is survived by his father, Herman Steinke; two sisters, Mrs. Ted Hoeft,
Abbotsford, and Mrs. Martha Dallenback, Chicago, Illinois, and a brother, Arthur
Steinke, Colby.
