Edward F. Volovsek, age 73, of Willard, died Monday, January 14, 2019 at his home in Willard under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice of Marshfield.

He was born Nov. 15, 1945, in Greenwood to Frank and Mary (Volarich) Volovsek. He spent his early years growing up in Willard, where he attended Willard School and later graduated from Greenwood High School in 1963.

During his life, Ed worked for United Builders of Greenwood, Stanley Volovsek Building and Halbraders Garage in Willard. He also worked for Plautz Bros. Inc. for several years as a heavy equipment operator, mechanic and truck foreman.

In 1977, Ed bought the family farm where he farmed for many years and still resided on the home farm at the time of his death. After he sold his herd, Ed worked for Westwood Kitchens and later Leeson Motors in Neillsville until his retirement.

He married Linda L. Ashbeck July 13, 1968, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood, and he was a member of Holy Family Church in Willard.

Ed enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching the birds at his feeder, four-wheeling in his woods and especially time spent at his campsite in the woods on the farm.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Linda of Willard; his daughter, Michelle (Scott) Johnson of Greenwood; his daughter, Denise (Clay) Herron of Kaukauna; and his son, Kevin (Nicole) of Freedom; his 14 grandchildren; and one granddaughter-in-law. He is also survived by three sisters: Barbara (Josh) Wasik of Mount Pleasant, Beverly (James) Niehaus of Eagle River and Linda (Dan) Melin of Utah.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
