With great sadness the family of Alan Roger Grefsheim announces his passing on
Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 at the age of 74.
Alan was born on Sept. 9, 1944 to Arvis (Gullickson) Grefsheim and Roger T.

He was an excellent chef; he loved to cook and cook meals for loved ones and
friends.
He graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 1966 as a culinary chef.
He then attended the National School of Meat Cutting in Toledo, Ohio. After many
years of running his own kitchens, he went into institutional food sales with
Milwaukee Cheese Company and then Reinhart Foodservice. He was a gifted salesman

Resort in Island Lake.
Not only did Alan have a passion for cooking, but he was a sporting enthusiast.
Any day you could find Alan hunting with his prized hunting dogs or fishing on
the lake. Alan loved to be outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, ATV riding,
boating, antiquing, or attending auctions. He enjoyed anything that got him
outside in the fresh air, fields, streams and on lakes.
He was a hard-working man, a loving husband to Linda for 41 years, and a proud
father of two Marine Corps veterans, Scott and Ryan — Semper Fi.
Alan is survived by his wife, Linda (Herring) Grefsheim; his sons, Scott
(Jessica) Grefsheim of Eau Claire and Ryan Grefsheim of Midway, Utah; his
sister, Judith (Bob) Jansen of West Olive, Mich.; his step-grandchildren, Zack
and Brittany; his nieces, nephews and extended family, and his beloved hunting
dogs.
A celebration of Alan’s life will take place at his beloved Bay View Resort on
Saturday, June 8.
