Minks, Rebecca Irene “Becky” (Madsen) (7 NOV 1951 - 29 DEC 2018)

Rebecca Irene “Becky” Minks, 67, of Ladysmith, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018.

She was born the fourth child of Robert and Irene Madsen on Nov. 7, 1951 in Ladysmith.

Becky loved to ride her motorcycle. She rode it until she was physically unable to. She volunteered at the Rusk County Animal Shelter for many years and was a current member of the Friends of the Shelter. One of her passions was helping wayward animals, opening her home and heart to help countless foster dogs, cats and even an Egret (whom, she drove to the Wildlife Rescue).

Becky is survived by her daughter, Maryjane Minks of Ladysmith; her sisters, Barbara (La Vern) Woodford of Chippewa Falls and Cynthia Adkins of Ladysmith; her brothers, Robert Madsen Jr. of Port Riche, Fla. and Michael Madsen of Eureka, Calif. and her nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her beloved dogs, Herbert and Dorcas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldo Minks; her parents, Robert and Irene Madsen; her grandparents, Nels and Helen Madsen and Ed and Lillian Sarb; her brothers-in-law, C.A. Adkins and Don Adkins; her sister-in-law, Daisy Madsen; her nephew, Robert D. Madsen and her beloved mastiffs, Archibald and Fergus.

A Time of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, Jan. 20, in the Bloedow Room in the lower level of the Rusk County Community Library in Ladysmith beginning at 1 p.m.

Nash-Jackan Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
