Olson, Salmer (1909? - ? JAN 1944)

Salmer Olson, 35, town of Little Black famer, was instantly killed Friday afternoon when he was struck by a log while driving a caterpillar tractor dragging logs.

The accident occurred in the woods east of Rib Lake where the Rib Lake Lumber Co. is conducting logging operations. One end of the log which he was dragging caught on a tree and swung the other end around to hit Olson in the head with great force.

His companions saw the log swinging around and yelled at Olson to watch out. He jumped from the tractor seat, in trying to avoid the log, but jumped directly into it.

Note: Birth information and death day information are unconfirmed.
