 Elizabeth Geiger (27 May 1908 – 1 Mar 2004)
 

Elizabeth Geiger, 94, died Monday, March 1 at Colonial Center in Colby. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 1 at 11a.m. at St Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, with Rev. James Schaefer officiating. Burial will be in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Norbert, Paul, David, and Mark Geiger; Donald Peissig and Jim Jantsch. Visitation will be held until service time at the church.

Maurina Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

The former Elizabeth Paulus was born on May 27, 1908 in the Town of Stockton, Portage County, to the late Peter and Barbara Paulus. She attended school until the eighth grade. She moved to McDill and worked for the Warren Booth family as a housekeeper and in the Booth grocery. She moved to Wisconsin Rapids where she was employed at Riverview Hospital. In 1954 she moved to Dorchester and was employed as a housekeeper at St. Louis Rectory.
Her marriage to Michael Geiger, who preceded her in death in February 1983, took place January 29, 1955. They farmed in the town of Mayville until 1959 when they sold their farm and moved into Dorchester. She also served as the secretary of the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery Association for many years.

Survivors include five stepsons, Norbert (Gerry), David (Carol), and Cyril, all of Dorchester; Paul (Pat) of St. Germain, and Mark (Lois) of Richfield; three stepdaughters, Margaret (Donald) Peissig of Dorchester, Therese of Waunakee, and Jane (Dick) Austin of Auburndale; 34 step-grandchildren; many step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren; nephews and a niece.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Fogarty.
